Nneka Okpara

Nneka received her J.D. from Hofstra Law School 2017. Prior to working, Nneka interned in Colombia for an NGO committed to raising awareness and stopping the practice of human and labor trafficking. Nneka is currently a staff attorney at Urban Justice Center’s Sex Worker’s Project, working to destigmatize and decriminalize sex work by providing legal services to those who have participated in the trade and/or have been a victim of human and labor trafficking. Nneka represents clients before immigration court and USCIS on a range of immigration matters involving T/U visas, asylum, adjustment of status, naturalization, amongst other issues.

As a daughter of two African immigrants, Nneka grew up surrounded by immigrant communities. Nneka is committed to bringing awareness to the challenges immigrants face as she believes that everyone deserves to live a life full of dignity, opportunity, and peace, no matter the race, religion, immigration status. In her free time, Nneka loves to explore NYC and work on her photography.
