Alfredo Vidal

Mr. Vidal has succeeded in the both the private and public sectors by crafting valuable solutions to complex government issues. He has served as president of The Vidal Group, LLC, representing a diverse client base on issues including health care, small business development and labor, since 2005. He is also a partner at Excelsior Advisors, LLC.

Prior to running his own successful lobbying firm, Mr. Vidal was a founding partner of Brown, Vidal and Weinraub, LLC, working on issues related to business and casino gambling. He had formerly been a senior associate with Weinraub and Ostroff, LLC, managing accounts including Casa PROMESA, Con Edison, Care Plus Health Plan, Court TV, The Dreyfus Corporation, Empire State Restaurant and Tavern Association, and the New York Public Library.

He began his career in government early in life, as an ombudsman for the Secretary of State. He became the director of finance for the Division of Human Rights, where he reorganized the finance unit and instituted an internal budget process that is still in place today. He also served as assistant director of Intergovernmental and Legislative Affairs for Governor Cuomo and senior internal auditor for the Department of Transportation, where he reorganized several divisions within the agency to achieve significant budget savings.

Mr. Vidal received a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in International Relations and Spanish Language, Literature and Culture. He earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He has received accolades from numerous organizations and was featured in The Capitol’s “Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars”. In 2010, the New York State Assembly Puerto Rican and Hispanic Taskforce presented him with their Community Service Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to and advocacy for the social and economic advancement of the people of the Puerto Rican and Hispanic Community of New York. He is a founding board member of Voto Latino, which is dedicated to empowering the Latino Community through the use of technology to encourage voting across the United States.
